The Problem:
You may notice that photos taken on a smartphone, tablet, or digital camera look correct on your device but appear sideways or upside down after being uploaded to our system (T4).
Why This Happens:
Modern devices store a photo's orientation (portrait or landscape) in hidden metadata called EXIF data. When you upload an image, some web systems, including T4, cannot read this EXIF data and will display the image in its original, unrotated state.
Unfortunately, images with this issue cannot be rotated within the T4 system.
How to Fix It:
To resolve this, you need to remove the EXIF metadata by re-saving the image on your computer.
Recommended Method
Re-save the Image: This method preserves the image quality.
- Download the image from T4 or find the original file on your computer.
- Open the image in a basic photo editing application (like Photos on Windows, Preview on macOS, or other image editor).
- Without making any changes, simply save the image as a new file. Go to File > Save As... and give it a new name (e.g.,
photo-fixed.jpg
). - Upload this newly saved image to T4. It will now display with the correct orientation.
Alternative Method
Take a Screenshot: This is a quick fix but may slightly reduce the image quality.
- Open the image on your computer so it is displaying in the correct orientation.
- Take a screenshot of the image.
- Upload the screenshot file instead of the original photo.
