4 - Creating Sections in TERMINALFOUR

In the TERMINALFOUR tour we learned that sections are organized in a hierarchical fashion (or what is typically described as a parent/child relationship). Each section in TERMINALFOUR represents a page in your website.

Create a Section

  • Step 1: Click on the 'Actions drop down' and select 'Create section'. This will take us to the general information panel about this section.

  • Step 2: Fill in the fields on the general information tab.

Legend
1. Name:
The 'Name' field becomes the name of the section and is mandatory. The name appears on the section in the title, breadcrumbs, and right navigation. The title of the page is formatted as Heading 1 (H1).

2. Description: The 'Description' field describes what your page is about. This will become part of the metadata and show in search results.

3. Keywords: The 'Keywords' field houses the words and phrases that Internet users type into the search box of a search engine. Each word or phrase should be separated by a comma.

4. Show in navigation: The 'Show in navigation' checkbox determines if the section appears in righthand navigation. To hide the section from right navigation, uncheck this box.

5. Mark as link section?: A 'link section' in TERMINALFOUR is a section created for the purpose of directing the user to another section or external page. You can create a 'link section' by checking the 'Make this a link section?' box.

  • Step 3: Click on the 'Save changes' button.
